Most baby carriers come with elastic bands sewn at the end of the webbings. These are to keep the excess webbing tidy so that they will not get caught in something which might pose danger to you and baby.
Here are the picture illustrations on how you can roll up the excess webbing. If your elastic band has worn off, you may sew on a new one or simply use a hair tie since it does not have any weight bearing purpose.
1) Coil up the excess webbing.
2) Flip the elastic band towards the bunch.
3) Fasten the elastic band .
